T'ai Chi & Qigong for Seniors and the Physically Challenged

Relaxing music sooths attendees and sets a serene mood. Beginning and closing meditations draw attention to the spine, muscles and relaxed breathing. Qigong exercises and T’ai Chi warm-ups are  repeated either standing or seated, as the student chooses. Posture, coordination, balance, flexibility, muscle strengthening and deep breathing are taught in safely and naturally. This ancient art of mobilizing chi provides profound benefits including:

  • Relief from breathing ailments and chronic joint and back pain

  • Increased vitality, energy and inner peace

Qigong

Qigong, an ancient art of gathering boundless universal life energy and circulating that energy throughout our bodies, has a profound healing and overall health maintenance effect. Join Odette for group fun and gentle exercises that combine muscle relaxation and strengthening to rejuvenate, relax and center yourself.  Through meditation and focus on breathing and body awareness learn how to release holding patterns, mobilize chi and use the earth for balance to improve your posture and walking form.  You will discover:

Yoga

By holding simple, gentle yoga poses you can develop posture, balance, flexibility and muscle strength. This natural, slow and peaceful full-body workout focuses on deep breathing, muscle relaxation and letting go. Participation is on the floor and standing using your mat and towel or small blanket; however sitting in a chair is always an option. Learn more about Odette
